Cobb to honor women veterans on Nov. 6

In advance of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, women veterans will be honored by the Veterans Affairs, Georgia Department of Veteran Services and Cobb County Government.

With registration required, the free event will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 6 at Jim R. Miller Park and Event Center, 2245 Callaway Road, Marietta.

Doors will open at noon.

Four female veterans will share their experiences while serving in the Armed Forces during World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War and Iraq/Afghanistan wars.

Also onsite will be:

• Veteran services providers.
• A free COVID-19 vaccination clinic by Cobb and Douglas Public Health - Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 and over. (Click here to see the COVID flyer and register using the QR code.)
• A Pet Adoption Trailer by Cobb County Animal Services. (The adoption fee will be waived for veterans.)
