Erin Honea, Main Street Director for Holly Springs since 2014, has been named the city’s economic development director.

Among her accomplishments, she earned and maintained the city’s status as an Accredited Main Street Community from the National Main Street Center and the Office of Downtown Development of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, according to a city announcement.

As economic development director, Honea will oversee Holly Springs’ marketing and communications, special events “and, most importantly, the city’s business attraction and retention efforts,” the city said.

Before joining Hollly Springs, Honea worked for six years at Reinhardt University, Waleska, and when she left was assistant director of annual giving. She has a communications degree with an emphasis on public relations from Kennesaw State University.
