The ZIP code was implemented in 1963, with the acronym intentionally chosen " to indicate that mail travels more quickly when senders mark the postal code on their packages and envelopes," dictionary.com states.

Atlanta has nearly 100 ZIP codes, and we think they’re all great. We know you probably have a favorite, though. It might be the one you live in or maybe the one you’d like to live in. It might be the one where you go for entertainment. However you determine “best,” this week’s AJC poll asks: “What is the best ZIP code in metro Atlanta?”
