They’re Man’s – and Woman’s – Best Friend.
The least you can do is throw them a bone.
The Piedmont Park Dog Park is one of seven community pooch parks across the country in the running for a $30,000 makeover grant, courtesy of Beneful dog food. To win the Dream Dog Park Makeover – and an additional bonanza of dog park equipment valued at up to $5,000 – Piedmont needs to have the top online vote total over competitors from Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Dallas, Raleigh, Kansas City and Oklahoma City.
Voting ends on Nov. 1 and right now Atlanta reportedly only has about three percent of the total vote. If just every Friend of Fido whose Great Dane or Chihuahua Mix runs wild and free in the immensely popular park voted, Atlanta would have a good chance of ending up the contest’s top dog.
Each of the eligible dog parks is different and has different needs, according to Beneful, which says the $30,000 could go towards anything and everything from installing tables and benches and shade structures to adding water features and agility equipment.
Call us biased, but we think the fact that the nearly three acre Piedmont Park Dog Park actually consists of two separate, abutting parks for small and large dogs and its backdrop along the Atlanta Beltline makes it a most worthy winner.
Voting is super easy. Just go to Walmart.com/Beneful and click on the Atlanta box. It will help you share your vote on Twitter and Instagram; each share counts as a vote. You can also vote via piedmontpark.org.
Best of all, unlike the upcoming election involving human being candidates on Nov. 8, you can keep going back to the (virtual) ballot box. You can vote once a day through Nov. 1 and find additional information at walmart.com/beneful.
