Ben Ratossa loves to cook, and his husband, Adam Perry, loves to bake, so it made sense that when they renovated their kitchen they made it as spacious and functional as possible, including one of Perry’s favorite features of the home -- a large island uncluttered by appliances or a sink, topped with Polarstone Carrara Quartz counters by AGM Imports Granite & Marble. The family room at the top of the stairs is homeowners Adam Perry and Ben Ratossa’s favorite room of their newly renovated upstairs. A large sectional from Ashley HomeStore now fits comfortably beneath the newly raised ceilings, creating a perfect place for the couple to lounge, and wood and metal railings, one of Perry’s favorite new features, section off the space from the stairs below. The gallery wall in Adam Perry and Ben Ratossa’s entryway is made up of things the couple have collected to represent their lives, like the wooden clocks from Bed Bath & Beyond in the shapes of the three states in which the two have lived together: Georgia, California and Texas. The mural wall painting gives the dining room an exotic feel, said homeowner Brad Resler. A unique art piece by Cathy Ehrler fills one wall of her Atlanta loft. Titled “DNA,” the multimedia piece is a painting of a tree in grayscale with black and white family photos collaged onto the trunk. Names of Cathy and her husband’s ancestors are woven into the work. Brandon Hancock’s industrial, eclectic living room consists of a Bush Hog saw blade mirror from Scott Antique Markets and a pair of Indian horse statues from Kudzu Antiques in Decatur on the mantel. “I wanted something tall there - tall and colorful,” Hancock said of the horses.
