History: Founded more than 100 years ago as a YWCA, LiveSafe Resources was Georgia’s first domestic violence shelter. Today, the organization provides a safety net for sexual assault, domestic violence and elder abuse victims.

Did you know: Women and men receive support and shelter from LiveSafe Resources, but children make up two-thirds of their clients. People can call the 24/7 crisis line to receive help with emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling, legal advocacy or sexual assault exams – all free of charge. In addition, advocates help clients re-establish their identity as they begin a path toward stability.

Mission: A community free of violence.

How you can help: Become a sexual assault advocate to support clients in crisis, help staff answer calls, and watch children during support groups. Donating from the Amazon wish list is another excellent way to give.
