Super Bowl 53: Here are the top bars for New England Patriots fans in Atlanta

5 things to know about the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 53

Considering it's a Southern city, Atlanta has more than its fair share of people who love the New England Patriots. That's great for the Atlanta Patriots fans who will be living next door to their team's Super Bowl come Feb. 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but it's also convenient for out-of-town Patriots fans looking for somewhere to watch the game.

Atlanta and Georgia Patriots fan clubs (yes, more than one) have already staked out some local bars and even restaurants for game watching over the years. Here are five prime spots where New England fans can expect to feel like the home team when Super Bowl LIII plays in Atlanta Feb. 3:

Hudson Grille Sandy Springs

6317 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs. 404-554-8282, hudsongrille.com

This sports bar already serves as the spot for the 200-400 members of the Atlanta New England Patriots Meetup Club that show up for each outing. The club numbers 2,000 strong altogether. This isn't anything like a New England corner bar, though. It's more like an upscale sports bar megalopolis, with tons of televisions, endless draft selection and burgers but also healthy, local and gluten-free food options.

Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant

933 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta. 404-260-7910, fadoirishpub.com

While Hudson Grille is the OTP ATL Patriots bar, Fado hosts the ITP gatherings. A pub with great sandwiches and exactly the hard beverages you'd expect from an Irish standout, Fado will be pouring with a heavy hand as its Patriots ex-Pats welcome their New England kinfolk with open arms.

Apparently, Sandy Springs is crawling with Patriots devotees. This is another pub that has hosted meetings of a local Pats fan club. The Tavern's multitudinous big screen televisions and overhead sound will be playing for the Patriots and that other team on Super Bowl Sunday. They're also known for great club food, craft, cellared and draft beer and dedicated smoking and non-smoking sections.

The Glenwood

1263 Glenwood Ave. SE, Atlanta. 404-748-1984, www.facebook.com/pg/theglenwoodatl

This gastropub and sports bar was a spot for Patriots fans to congregate long before this Super Bowl race. Along with being super-friendly to Pats, the bar features a vast beer selection, barbecue, 11 HD and two giant screens. Hit it up earlier in the 10 Days Of Atlanta Super Bowl Celebration for a live DJ, darts and shuffleboard.

ADDA Sports Pub

3455 Peachtree Pkwy, Suite 212, Suwanee. 470-239-4348, www.addasportspub.com

A regular hangout for the metro Atlanta neighborhoods of Suwanee, Cumming, Johns Creek and Alpharetta, ADDA is listed on the We Are All Patriots Fan Club and Bar Registry. The Indo-American sports bar will be slinging fusion food and mixologist creations. And there's a bit of room to spread out, between a 30-foot bar and two separate lounges.
