Super Bowl 53 : Every question you have about Super Bowl 53 answered

If you live in Atlanta, even little babies in their Falcons onesies know that Super Bowl LIII will take place Sunday, Feb. 3 2019, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

But if you're planning to attend the game or are coming into town for the big day (or the nine days of festivities that precede it), there will be questions, frequently asked questions, as they're known.

And we've rounded up the answers to the primary FAQs, from getting to the event and eating a $2 hot dog to how to find a campground to stay at and who will be reporting on the sidelines when you tune in on television.

Some of these questions are the traditional "who what where," and others are more peripheral. But all are critical to an understanding of the soon-to-be-spectacular Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.

Here's all we know, and all you need to know, about the impending Super Bowl in Atlanta:

When is the 2019 Super Bowl?

It bears repeating: 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019.

Where is the 2019 Super Bowl?

The game will be played at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home to the NFL's Falcons. The stadium opened in 2017 and this will be the first Super Bowl it hosts. The address is 1 AMB Drive NW, Atlanta, 30313.

How can you buy tickets for Super Bowl 53?

The very best way to ensure a ticket to the Super Bowl would be to have one of the $45,000 personal seat licenses for one of about 1,300 Falcons club seats around the 50-yard line, according to the AJC.

The NFL controls tickets to the Super Bowl, and that's how the premium tickets work. After that, your second best shot at tickets would be one of the hospitality packages or to purchase the tickets that eventually make their way through to the secondary market.

NFL Senior Counsel of Legal Affairs Michael Buchwald holds up Super Bowl 51 tickets as he explains the anti-counterfeit features of legitimate tickets during a news conference at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017.

Do Super Bowl LIII tickets cost a lot?

As they say in the South, "Oh, sweetie." To get an idea, StubHub said its average resale price for last year's Minneapolis-hosted Super Bowl was $5,414 and the lowest was $3,103, according to the AJC.

The anaylsis by the AJC report shows that Super Bowl 53 prices are between $2,500 to $2,700 per ticket.

Where can you stay during the 10 days of Super Bowl LIII events in Atlanta?

Whether you're in the Peach State for the party or actually have tickets for the game, Airbnb is on point with accommodations throughout the metro area. Although, price inflation is rampant close to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

How much will hot dogs cost at the game?

All right, not your first question. But a welcome answer nonetheless: $2. All affordable Mercedes-Benz Stadium concession prices will be in effect for the Super Bowl, including $2 hot dogs and refillable soft drinks.

Is there public transportation to the Atlanta Super Bowl?

Officials are encouraging visitors to any events surrounding Super Bowl LIII to take Atlanta's MARTA rail line, and their encouragement may be worded too softly. Car traffic will be nuts all week and especially on Super Bowl Sunday. Around 150,000 out of towners are expected for the event, along with an extra million visitors in the weeks leading up to it. Driving routes will be highly inaccessible.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is on the East-West MARTA rail line, served by both the GWCC/Philips Arena CNN Center Station and the Vine City Station. It's also a convenient walk from Five Points or Peachtree Center. The MARTA schedule, fares and tips for traversing the city are at itsmarta.com.

Is there any point in arriving a few days early?

Only if you want to have a bucket list-quality good time. In the 10 days surrounding Super Bowl LIII, Atlanta comes alive with music and noteworthy charity events. The offerings are lavish, over the top, rowdy, moving and entertaining — and sometimes all of the above. Just a very few of the possibilities include the Zoo Atlanta Super Bowl LIII Recycling Rally; Taste of the NFL's Party With a Purpose strolling wine and food event; the 20th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration and an Off The Field Players' Wives Fashion Show Super Bowl.

Where can you park near Mercedes-Benz Stadium?

Even on a slow weekend, downtown Atlanta is a thorny place to park (even the official Mercedes-Benz Stadium website says so). The best bet for the Super Bowl is probably parking your car at an outlying MARTA station and then taking the MARTA to the game. But if you insist, there are lots listed on the stadium website at varying price points. Some allow tailgating, some do not.

Where can a person eat near Mercedes-Benz Stadium?

There are lots of places to eat, and you'll find everything from sushi to fresh-fried chicken. Many of the restaurants are a short walk away in downtown's Castleberry Hill and you'll also be able to find cheap but luscious lunches in nearby downtown Atlanta on the weekdays leading up to Super Bowl Sunday.

Inside the stadium, local chow options abound, including Delia's Chicken Sausage and Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q.

Will the Super Bowl LIII beer be any good?

Yes. Look forward to it. This stadium has been all about beer choice from the beginning, with 1,264 taps and selections ranging from state-brewed craft brands to mass-market options like Bud Light, with a few specialty brands rounding out the beer menu.

What's this about a retractable roof at Mercedes-Benz stadium?

They've got one and it's state of the art. After lots of finagling, it even works. For the Super Bowl, the NFL would like to have the roof open if weather permits, Jon Barker, the NFL's vice president of event operations and production told the AJC back in October. "It also is dependent on some of the work we need to do for halftime and some of the other things we need to do inside the stadium. There is going to be rigging (of heavy loads) from the roof, so it's looking at the technical challenges of being able to rig what we need to rig and being able to open the roof."

Can you watch the Super Bowl online?

According to BGR, CBS will stream Super Bowl LIII and anyone can watch it free on CBSSports.com or using the CBS Sports app for connected TV and mobile devices. You won't even need a cable login.

What can TV viewers expect?

Whether you come to the ATL to enjoy the hoopla and then watch at a sports bar or are watching from a faraway state, tune in to CBS for pre-game coverage starting at 11:30 a.m. up until kickoff at 6:30 p.m. (That’s correct, seven hours of pregame.) The CBS lineup kicks off with "That Other Pregame Show" at 11:30 a.m. and also includes NFL Films' annual look back at the "Road to the Super Bowl" and the national anthem and introduction of the (as yet to be determined) teams. Additonally, the halftime show will feature Maroon 5, Big Boi and Travis Scott.

For the main event, Jim will call play-by-play, Tony Romo will have his inaugural Super Bowl analyst appearance and Tracy Wolfson and Evan Washburn will report from the sidelines.

How long till kickoff?

The AJC provides an online ticker that tells how many days, hours and minutes until you turn on the set or head to your 50-yard line seats for Super Bowl LIII. And if you want to be extra-accurate, it counts down the seconds, too.
