Country singer Garth Brooks announced a stadium tour for 2019, the Tennessean reported Wednesday.
The singer made the announcement during a news conference at The Country Music Hall of Fame. Only two venues were revealed as tour stops -- St. Louis and Glendale, Arizona. Brooks said dates will be revealed later, adding that tickets for shows at five venues will be available by Christmas, the Tennessean reported.
Brooks said he planned to play 10 to 12 stadium concerts a year for the next three years, the newspaper reported. Many of the concerts will be held at college stadiums, he said.
"I can't think of how to make music more fun other than add sports to it," Brooks said at the news conference. “Our music was built for fun and the live stage."
In addition to the concert tour, Brooks announced a CBS special on Dec. 2 that will feature a one-night event this weekend at Notre Dame Stadium. Brooks will be the first singer to perform in the stadium, the Tennessean reported.
“After the sellout, I thought it could not get any more exciting than this,” Brooks said. “Then, CBS calls and in an instant, the show becomes bigger. This changes everything.”
