A DeKalb County teacher has been banned from school district property after she was arrested an a DUI charge, school district and police records show.

Minnie Turner, who is listed as a science teacher at Tucker High School, has been accused of driving while under the influence of alcohol and striking another vehicle at the school, according to the arrest warrant.

The incident took place on Monday morning, Tucker High School Principal Eric Parker said in a letter to the school community. Though the incident led to property damage in the campus parking lot, Parker said, no one was injured.

Students at Tucker High said Turner was returning to the campus after picking up food when she hit another driver, then hit more cars in the school parking lot, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Turner has been placed on administrative leave and is not allowed on any school district property until the investigation concludes, Parker said.

Turner was booked into the DeKalb jail on Monday morning, and was released on bond shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
