WellStar adds new outpatient surgery center

WellStar Health System has opened an Outpatient Surgery Center this month at the WellStar East Cobb Health Park with plans to add rheumatology services in August.

Open Monday through Friday, the surgery center is located at 3747 Roswell Road NE in Marietta.

The surgery center includes 20 private prep/recovery rooms, three operating room suites and three procedure rooms.

Also, the surgery center provides onsite pathology support, a private patient discharge elevator and a covered pickup area that is separate from the health park’s main entrance.

The 162,000-square-foot health park opened in September, bringing primary and specialty physician offices together with comprehensive diagnostics, laboratory services, rehabilitation therapy, urgent care, a retail pharmacy and now the outpatient surgery center.

The health park’s physicians include family care, internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology services.

Specialists cover cardiology, pulmonology, ear/nose/throat, neurosurgery, pain management, chiropractic care, vascular surgery, general surgery, allergy/asthma, endocrinology, urology and orthopedics with rheumatology next month.

“The WellStar East Cobb Health Park is truly a one-stop shop for all outpatient medical services,” said Joe Brywczynski, senior vice president of health parks administration. “With the addition of the Outpatient Surgery Center, we will be better able to serve our community and bring them the leading service and exceptional experience they have grown to expect from WellStar.”

WellStar Health System is the largest not-for-profit health system in Georgia, serving a population of more than 1.4 million residents in five counties.
