Fast-food giants Wendy's and Burger King exchanged sarcastic comments via social media on Thursday.

It all started when Wendy's tweeted a picture of its "4 for $4" promotion.

Seems innocent enough, right?

The next day, Burger King posted a picture to its Twitter account, touting its own promotion, which offers five menu items for $4.

"5 for $4 because 5 is better than 4," Burger King captioned the photo.
Yikes.

The subtle banter appears to stop there as there's no evidence of any more catty messages on either chain's Twitter account, but one deleted tweet eggs the feud on.

"@Wendy's what are you firing back?" one instigating Twitter user asked.

"Edible food," the Wendy's account responded. The comment was later deleted.

The popular burger joints, both of which regularly produce some pretty hilarious tweets, stop there, but a poll on Buzzfeed shows that Internet users think Wendy's won the "Fast Food Twitter Battle of 2016" hands down.
