UPS CEO gets $11.3 million in compensation

March 15, 2016

The chief executive officer of Sandy Springs-based UPS made nearly $11.3 million in total compensation last year, marking a 35 percent increase during his second year at the helm of the shipping giant.

CEO David Abney’s compensation included about $1 million in salary, $7.9 million in stock awards, $450,000 in option awards, more than $633,000 in incentives and some other items.

Abney was named CEO in mid-2014. That year, his total compensation was nearly $8.4 million, including a salary of nearly $675,000.

Previous CEO Scott Davis’s total compensation was nearly $17 million in 2014, including a salary of more than $830,000.

UPS reported a $4.8 billion profit for 2015, saying it struck the right balance over the busy holiday shipping season after two years of struggles.
