Age: 60
Occupation: Professor of nursing, Brenau University in Gainesville
What I’m wearing: “Black knit dress from Chico’s, with a multicolored, beaded bolero jacket from Goodwill, and a silver-and-turquoise medallion necklace created by Paul Roberts of Moonrush Jewels in Dahlonega. The ‘bling’ bracelet — rhinestone horse head — from Accessory Necessities represents my two passions in life: horses and Elvis [Presley], who always had plenty of bling. I made that impulse buy specifically to wear to his birthday celebration weekend, which is what I did to celebrate my recent 60th [birthday].”
Signature style: “For work, flowing dresses with jackets or scarves, small necklaces of symbolic meaning. Gotta have some fun to it.”
Best finds: Goodwill and garage sales. I’ve learned to stop at garage sales in upscale neighborhoods for some incredible deals.”
Fashion weakness: “Flip-flops with flowers on the toes — especially for 50 cents at garage sales.”
Favorite stores: “Goodwill.”
Fashion inspiration: “Dr. Sandra Greniewicki,” a professor of nursing at Brenau University.
Pet peeve: “Fur and leather.”
Best fashion compliment: “You look so thin.”
