Midtown is getting two new hotels.
Construction soon will begin on a 12-story tower that will house a Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton at the corner of 10th and Williams streets.
Alpharetta-based North Point Hospitality Group, which is in charge of the project, said the two hotels will have 226 units total, along with meeting and conference facilities.
The tower’s location, currently a parking lot, was chosen for its proximity to nearby corporate headquarters and entertainment venues.
"The hotels' location is key,” said S. Jay Patel, North Point Hospitality's president and CEO. “It is just minutes from Georgia Tech, Turner Broadcasting, Coca Cola, the Woodruff Arts Center and over 20 million square feet of office space."
About 200 workers will build the tower, and North Point said the hotels will employ more than 100 people after it opens in the first quarter of 2013.
