Miguel Southwell was confirmed by the Atlanta City Council as leader of the world’s busiest airport, stepping into the position as the airport finalizes its master plan and continues efforts to increase air cargo traffic.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed’s selection of Southwell as general manager of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport was approved by two council committees before the unanimous confirmation by the full city council on Monday.
Southwell has been interim general manager of Hartsfield-Jackson since the retirement late last year of previous airport head Louis Miller.
