Six companies are competing to open the first barbershop at the world’s busiest airport.

The proposals submitted by Thursday’s deadline came from New Beginnings Hair Studio, University Barbershop LLC, Vintage Hair Gallery, Profreshional Cuts LLC, The Barbershop of Atlanta and MJM Air LLC.

Airport and city officials will review the proposals before making a decision on the contract award.

The Atlanta airport had planned to open a Jakki Colours hair salon in the airport atrium several years ago, but the salon never opened. Hartsfield-Jackson now plans to open a 1,349-square-foot barbershop in the atrium.
