Ponce City Market developer Jamestown Properties on Monday unveiled the new rooftop amusement park planned at the hulking former Sears warehouse turned hot in-town Atlanta live-work-play complex.

Jamestown and partner Slater Hospitality said the new Nine Mile Station beer garden and Skyline Park will bring a swinging chair ride and other Coney Island-style attractions to the development along the Atlanta Beltline east of downtown. The attractions are expected to fully open in July.

As The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported in March, the roof will feature miniature golf, boardwalk games, rides and a tower slide built into the project's sign. The amusement park evokes the former Ponce de Leon Amusement Park that was founded near the site more than a century ago.

“We take seriously the notion that Ponce is a community center,” Jamestown CEO Matt Bronfman said.

The $200 million Ponce City Market features loft office space, high-end eateries and retailers. Tech firms such as Cardlytics, HowStuffWorks and athenahealth call the development home.

On Sunday, a charity putt-putt tournament for Atlanta Hawks star Kyle Korver's foundation marked the amusement park's first public event.

Skyline Park is expected to be open the warmest eight months of the year, probably four days a week, and the restaurants will be open year-round, Jamestown President Michael Phillips said.
