AutoTrader.com, an online marketplace for buying and selling vehicles, has named Jared Rowe as president, the Atlanta-based company announced Tuesday.

Rowe, former president of Kelley Blue Book, a print and online resource for valuing vehicles, replaces Alan Smith, who is leaving to pursue personal interests, AutoTrader.com said.

Rowe served as president of Kelley Blue Book for two and a half years. He is a former vice president for product management at AutoTrader.com. Rowe was also a founding member of the leadership team of FordDirect, an online marketplace for Ford vehicles.

Replacing Rowe as Kelley Blue Book president is Steve Lind, who had been vice president of operations at the company.

AutoTrader.com and Irvine, Calif.-based Kelley Blue Book are Cox Automotive companies. Cox Automotive is a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, which owns The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
