NCR Corp. announced a major partnership with a Chinese company to expand the Duluth-based company’s point of sale technologies to supermarkets, conveniences stores, gas stations and other retailers in the Asian country.

NCR already operates a manufacturing plant in Beijing, and is a major provider of ATMs and self-check-in kiosks at airports. The company also provides solutions to financial, hospitality and travel industries in China.

NCR said Shanghai Anmao Information Technology Co. will become a reseller for a range of point-of-sale hardware such as cash registers and self-serve checkouts, software and services to retailers.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Gerald Huang, general manager of NCR Retail in Greater China, said the deal with Shanghai Anmao will greatly extend NCR’s reach in China, where point-of-sale technology is expected to double by 2016.
