Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, one of metro Atlanta’s largest law firms, on Wednesday announced a new chairman and managing partner.

Paul Aguggia, the Washington, D.C.-based leader of Kilpatrick Townsend’s financial institutions team, has been elected to succeed Bill Dorris as chairman.

Henry Walker, a former chief litigation counsel to BellSouth and an expert in complex cases, has been named a managing partner. Walker replaces Diane Prucino, and he will serve as a managing partner along with the firm’s current managing partner, Maureen Sheehy.

The changes will take effect July 1. The terms for Dorris and Prucino were set to expire June 30. Both lawyers will remain with the firm, returning to full-time practices in Atlanta-based Kilpatrick Townsend’s construction and labor teams, respectively.

Kilpatrick Townsend, whose roots stretch more than 150 years, has nearly 630 attorneys worldwide.
