Interest rates for home loans dropped a bit in early November, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association.

The average rate for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages for home loans with a balance of less than $417,0000 were hovering at 4.31 percent in late October. Rates had dropped to an all-time low of less than 4 percent for a few days in the month.

Interest rates for 15-year mortgages remained low, at about 3.6 percent.
