Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed on Thursday announced three finalists to lead the city’s economic development agency.
The candidates include a former corporate executive, an internal candidate with experience with development agencies at the local, state and federal level and the former chamber of commerce chief from Louisville, Ky. The position opened earlier this year after former Invest Atlanta CEO Brian McGowan left to join the Metro Atlanta Chamber as its No. 2 officer.
The finalists are: Gregory M. Buckley, former COO of Gibson Guitar Corp.; Eloisa Klementich, Invest Atlanta’s managing director of business development; and Craig J. Richard, former CEO of regional chamber Greater Louisville Inc.
“We have narrowed down the search for President and CEO of Invest Atlanta to three results-oriented professionals who have extensive experience in economic development and job creation,” Reed said in a news release. “All three candidates have the leadership abilities to continue the important work of the agency by creating jobs and opportunity for the people of Atlanta.”
It is not immediately clear when a decision by the Invest Atlanta board will be made. A city spokeswoman said no timeline has been set.
