Sales for Atlanta-based Porsche Cars North America have risen 3.1 percent in November, exceeding previous records set in April.

The company, located south of Atlanta, reported sales of 5,673 vehicles in November.

“The November results confirm what we have seen all year, that the thrill of driving a Porsche of your choice resonates with existing customers and new fans,” said Klaus Zellmer, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America.

The Macan continues to drive sales for the German company, closely followed by the new generation Cayenne SUV and the Panamera sedan.

Porsche Cars North America imports and distributes its models to 189 authorized dealers in the country and also operates two experience centers in Atlanta and Los Angeles, where visitors get the opportunity to test drive some of its sports cars and SUV's on specially designed tracks.

The company's sales reports come amid a nationwide decline in auto sales this year according to Edmunds.com, an online car shopper's guide. The decrease is partly attributed to high interest rates on new cars and the declining popularity of passenger vehicles.
