Recall Alert: Frozen corn could be contaminated with Listeria

Bonduelle USA Inc. is recalling 9,335 cases of frozen corn because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The frozen cut corn was distributed to stores in several states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland It was distributed under the following labels and codes:

The Brockport, NY company has not received any complaints. The recall was the result of tests done on the product by the State of Tennessee.

Listeria infection  can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
