Blue Bell Creameries confirmed on Twitter Wednesday that the company is producing ice cream and building inventory at its Sylacauga, Alabama, plant.

The Alabama Department of Health said it has cleared the facility to make ice cream.

A Blue Bell spokesperson said employees started work on Wednesday. The facility first began testing products last week.

The company also said to expect more information on its return in the coming weeks.

The Blue Bell facility in Broken Arrow has not yet resumed production.

Officials from the State Department of Food and Safety said equipment is still being replaced and an inspection has not been done.
