Atlanta ranked 5th most popular of 146 regions in the nation in real estate searches during September, according to Realtor.com

The online company tracks real estate sales and trends.

Atlanta was behind Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.

Median list prices for metro Atlanta homes hit $159,900 in September, which is 8.6 percent lower than this time last year.

Inventory of homes for sale was 62,056, a 30 percent decrease compared to September 2010.
