Hartsfield-Jackson International is taking one of its first steps in its plans to develop a hotel, office complex and travel plaza at the airport, inviting potential developers to a meeting Tuesday.

The project the airport envisions includes a hotel next to the domestic terminal, along with a nearby gas station/convenience store and mixed-use office development.

The airport has invited companies interested in being pre-qualified to compete for the project to a meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hartsfield-Jackson technical support campus. Firms should have “significant experience in large commercial development projects,” including mixed-use development with Class A office space, high-end hotels and travel plazas, according to the airport.
