1. Broncos (2-0)

The defense saved them in the fourth quarter against the Colts with a Aqib Talib pick six and Von Miller’s sack-strip that led to a TD. Can the D really carry them all season again?

2. Patriots (2-0)

Pats don’t have Tom Brady or Rob Gronkowski. Then QB Jimmy Garoppolo left Sunday’s game against the Dolphins with an injury. They still won.

3. Eagles (2-0)

They looked very sharp in a win at Chicago. The defense appears rejuvenated under first-year head coach Doug Pederson.

4. Steelers (2-0)

They were sloppy in the rain but still pulled away from the Bengals in the second half.

5. Texans (2-0)

Another W but new QB Brock Osweiler already has three picks in two games, two of them with the Texans in scoring position.

6. Vikings (2-0)

After beating the Titans with physical running and D, they beat the Packers with new QB Sam Bradford going 22-for-30 for 286 yards and two TDs. But now RB Adrian Peterson is out with an injury.

7. Giants (2-0)

Once again QB Eli Manning leads them to victory late. The defense is looking strong, too.

8. Ravens (2-0)

Good news: They rallied from 20 points down to beat the Browns on the road. Bad news: They were down 20 points to the Browns, in any location, at any time.

9. Panthers (1-1)

Shook off the loss at Denver by pummeling the 49ers at home.

10. Cardinals (1-1)

Cards made Bucs QB Jameis Winston look awful a week after he looked great in The Dome.

11. Bengals (1-1)

In the loss to the Steelers, QB Andy Dalton had about the least impressive 366-yard game you’ll ever see. The defense gave up too many big plays in the second half.

12. Packers (1-1)

QB Aaron Rodgers took five sacks from the Vikings, threw a pick and needed 36 attempts to get to 213 yards. The defense got carved up by new Vikings QB Sam Bradford.

13. Jets (1-1)

RB Matt Forte and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick combined for 474 yards and four TDs to beat the Bills.

14. Chiefs (1-1)

They managed just four field goals against the Texans. They desperately need RB Jamaal Charles back from injury.

15. Falcons (1-1)

Wringing your hands about the defense and QB Matt Ryan’s red-zone pick? I get it, but I'm more focused on that dominant performance by the o-line.

16. Chargers (1-1)

They lost their best offensive option, WR Keenan Allen, to an ACL injury in Week 1. Then RB Danny Woodhead went down with the same injury in Sunday’s big W vs. Jags.

17. Raiders (1-1)

So I guess they are just going to try to score 40 on everybody?

18. Cowboys (1-1)

Rookie QB Dak Prescott looked better in a W at Washington.

19. Titans (1-1)

His team doesn’t win much so hardly anyone notices but second-year QB Marcus Mariota is a gamer.

20. Seahawks (1-1)

Yeah, QB Russell Wilson was playing on a bum ankle, but how do they not score just one field goal against the Rams? They’ve got issues.

21. Buccaneers (1-1)

Took a beatdown at Arizona but at least this week's opponent, the Rams, can’t sling it like the Cardinals.

22. Lions (1-1)

The defense gave up a costly fourth-down conversion to the Titans while blowing a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter.

23. Rams (1-1)

L.A. fans welcomed back real football and saw four field goals, no TDs and 19 combined penalties. At least the Rams won.

24. 49ers (1-1)

After the 49ers shut out the Rams, I wondered if the defense really is that good. I don’t wonder after the Panthers hung 39.

25. Dolphins (0-2)

Maybe playing the Browns this week will help the Dolphins’ offensive line figure things out.

26. Saints (0-2)

After a close loss in a shootout with the Raiders at home, the Saints took a close L in a defensive struggle at the Giants. Close, but still taking Ls.

27. Washington (0-2)

QB Kirk Cousins’ teammates sure seemed ticked after he threw a pick in the end zone. That led to a go-ahead TD by the Cowboys.

28. Jaguars (0-2)

A week after an encouraging loss to the Packers they had three turnovers and a missed field goal in a wipeout at San Diego.

29. Bills (0-2)

The offense came to life after a poor Week 1 showing but the defense collapsed against the Jets.

30. Colts (0-2)

They hope the D’s struggles are more about the long injury list.

31. Bears (0-2)

They are banged up after the Eagles beat them up.

32. Browns (0-2)

I saw the Browns were up 20-0 on the Ravens and thought, “Here comes the collapse.” It's possible they thought it, too.
