West Forsyth takes Forsyth County title
Medalist Robert Shaw’s 73 helped West Forsyth post a school-record 298 and win the Forsyth County Golf Championship at Laurel Springs.
The Wolverines also got three 75s from Austin Jaynes, Austin Amburgy and Drew Ridings to win for the second straight week. West Forsyth won the Packer Invitational last weekend.
Lambert finished second at 308. The Longhorns were led by Spencer Ball, who shot 74. South Forsyth was third at 333, followed by North Forsyth at 352, Forsyth Central at 359 and Pinecrest Academy at 402.
Stone wins Savannah golf title
Parker Stone of Savannah Country Day shot a 1-under 70 at Bacon Park to win the Savannah City High School Championship. Benedictine’s Devin Murphy shot 75 and defending champion Kolbe Kennedy of Country Day was third at 76. Benedictine won the team title for the sixth straight year.
Rachel Wohn of Savannah Arts was girls medalist with a 42. St. Vincent’s won the team title.
Northside’s Shellnut wins Muscogee County title
Zac Shellnut shot a 71 to win the individual championship at the 15th annual Muscogee County Invitational at Maple Ridge Country Club. Shellnut beat Nolan Miller of Columbus by one shot.
Columbus won the team championship with a strong 299, 17 shots better than Northside. Columbus also counted a 73 from Ben Carr, a 74 from Daniel Davis and an 80 from Stanton Schorr.
Northside was second with 316 and also got a 76 from Dalton Whittle. Brookstone, paced by Evan Copeland’s 76, was third at 337 and Northwest Whitfield was fourth at 338.

The 18th Indian Invitational will be played this weekend in Vidalia. The Colquitt County boys and Vidalia girls are the defending champions. … The 26th annual Blue Devil Invitational Golf Tournament will be held on Monday at Spring Hill Country Club in Tifton. The 18-team event has a definite South Georgia flavor. …

Sequoyah girls clinch region title
The Sequoyah girls sewed up first place in Region 7-AAAA with wins over rivals Dalton and River Ridge. The Chiefs are led by Taylor Dodd at No. 1 singles and Morgan Dodd at No. 2. The doubles teams were led by Victoria Smith, Sophia Levantis and Alexa Cornielia.
Clarke sophomore still unbeaten
Caroline Caldwell, a sophomore at Clarke Central, is 11-0 on the season and 24-0 in her career. She came from 3-0 down this week to beat Flowery Branch's Nicole Morris, 6-3, 6-2 for Clarke Central's only point in a recent 4-1 loss. Caldwell is ranked as the No. 24 prospect among Georgia sophomores by TennisRecruiting.net.
