How the game was won: Took a 17-0 lead in the third quarter with a 38-yard touchdown pass from Seth Shuman to Wesley Veal before Lowndes answered. The Vikings' Michael Barrett returned the ensuing kickoff 74 yards for their only score.

Top Performers: Valdosta quarterback Seth Shuman finished 21-of-37 with 260 yards passing and a touchdown to Wesley Veal. … Veal finished with seven catches for a game-high 133 receiving yards. … Shuman also rushed the ball seven times for 35 yards and a first quarter touchdown. … Davis Baldwin kicked a 28-yard field goal in the first quarter.
