The Region 7-AAAAA basketball tournament, which began with six games on Saturday and was set to resume with games Tuesday and Wednesday, is now scheduled to start again on Friday at Sequoyah High School in Canton.

Four girls games on Tuesday and four boys games on Wednesday were postponed because of the inclement weather that led to school closings in Cobb, Cherokee and Fulton counties, where the remaining teams in the tournament are located.

Sequoyah boys coach Jeremy Adams said play will resume at 10 a.m. Friday unless Cherokee County schools are closed that day. Cobb and Fulton schools will be closed Friday because of previously scheduled student holidays and would be allowed to play.

The seventh-ranked Osborne girls will open play against Riverwood in a quarterfinal game. Here is the full schedule for Friday’s games:

10 a.m. - Osborne vs. Riverwood (girls)

11:30 a.m. - Osborne vs. Northview (boys)

1:00 p.m. - Northview vs. Kell (girls)

2:30 p.m. - North Springs vs. Sprayberry (boys)

4:00 p.m. - Pope vs. Creekview (girls)

5:30 p.m. - Pope vs. Creekview (boys)

7:00 p.m. - Sprayberry vs. Sequoyah (girls)

8:30 p.m. - Sequoyah vs. Kell (boys)

The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday and the third-place and championship games will be played Monday night at Sequoyah.
