With seven titles in the last seven years, Buford will be bidding for an eighth straight championship that would come in a third different classification. The Wolves triumphed in Class AAA for a second consecutive time in 2013 after five victories in succession in Class AA. They are now kicking off their 2014 campaign in the top Class AAAA spot.
The story is a similar one for Calhoun, which is making a jump from Class AA to Class AAA. Calhoun rolled to a title last season and it may now be the primary beneficiary of Buford’s move to Class AAAA. The Yellow Jackets will be almost completely reloaded with a ton of experience back on the team.
Gordon Lee finds itself in Class AA after dominating Class A with four consecutive championships. With five starters needing to be replaced, the Trojans are settling in behind Harlem and Heard County in the first installment of the rankings.
