Region play has begun in 22 of the state’s 48 regions and will get under way in most of the rest of them either this week or next. That means the opportunities for those high-profile non-region matchups are coming to an end. But there are still a few on the schedule this weekend. Look for Lovejoy to survive a challenge from Mays and Central-Carrollton’s rugged defense to shut down Landmark Christian. And expect Lee County to beat Mitchell County to complete a non-region sweep for 1-AAAAAA, which is 28-0 this year.
