Lorenzo Smothers is only 5 feet, 7 inches and 170 pounds, and that might explain the limited number of scholarship offers he has received. But there is probably not another Georgia high school football player with a more wide-ranging impact on a game.

The senior from Marion County has scored 71 touchdowns in his career - 37 rushing, 25 receiving and nine returning punts, kickoffs or interceptions.

Smothers and Cherokee RB Brittain Brown, the leading rusher in Class AAAAAA, are the newest members of GHSF Daily's POY Watch.

1. DT Derrick Brown, Lanier:Brown had nine tackles, three assists, four tackles for losses, one QB hurry, two sacks and a deflected pass in a 48-21 victory over Winder-Barrow that clinched Region 8-AAAAA. In nine games, Brown has 80 total tackles, 33 for losses, 10 sacks, 23 QB hurries, 10 pass deflections, one interception returned 30 yards for a touchdown, one blocked punt and two recovered fumbles for the No. 4 team in Class AAAAA. Brown, who is uncommitted, is the consensus No. 8 recruit in the country.

2. RB/DB Taylor Trammell, Mount Paran Christian:Trammell rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries in a 35-18 victory over Mount Zion. Playing defense, Trammell forced and recovered a fumble that set up a critical touchdown. For the season, Trammell has rushed for 1,939 yards on 188 carries (10.3 ypc), scored 30 touchdowns and intercepted three passes. Mount Paran (9-0) is ranked No. 1 in Class A. Trammell is committed to Georgia Tech as a baseball player.

3. QB Trevor Lawrence, Cartersville: Lawrence was 13-of-15 passing for 349 yards and five touchdowns, all in the first half, in a 49-0 victory over LaFayette. For the season, Lawrence is 139-of-203 (.675) for 2,395 yards and 31 touchdowns with three interceptions for a 9-0 team that is ranked No. 1 in Class AAAA. He has thrown four or more touchdowns passes in six games this season. Lawrence is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the country among sophomores. He is uncommitted.

4. QB Chase Brice, Grayson:Brice was 17-of-18 passing for 350 yards and five touchdowns in a 50-10 victory over Brookwood. For the season, Brice is 124-of-186 (.667) for 2,059 yards and 23 touchdowns with four interceptions for a 10-0 team that is ranked No. 2 in Class AAAAAA. Brice is the consensus No. 11 pro-style quarterback prospect nationally among juniors and reportedly favors Clemson and Michigan State.

5. QB Chase Parrish, Colquitt County:Parrish was 15-of-24 passing for 186 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-33 victory over Tift County. For the season, Parrish is 125-of-177 (.706) for 1,861 yards and 23 touchdowns with three interceptions. Parrish is 24-0 as a starting quarterback and has thrown at least one TD pass in 23 of 24 starts. Colquitt County is 9-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class AAAAAA.

6. RB/DB Colby Wood, Jefferson:Wood rushed for 198 yards and scored all five of his team's touchdowns on 44 carries in a 36-35 double-overtime loss to Oconee County. He also caught five passes for 65 yards. For the season, Wood has rushed for 1,711 yards and 26 touchdowns on 247 carries (6,9 ypc) and has caught 12 passes for 173 yards and one touchdown. He has intercepted two passes, forced one fumble and made 25 tackles, two behind the line of scrimmage. Jefferson (8-1) is ranked No. 6 in AAA.

7. RB/WR/DB Lorenzo Smothers, Marion County: Smothers scored five touchdowns - three rushing, one receiving and one returning a punt - in a 54-12 victory over Taylor County. Smothers rushed for 175 yards on nine carries and had five tackles. On the season, Smothers has rushed for 923 yards, averaging 12.1 per carry, and scored 24 touchdowns on 12 runs, seven receptions, three punt returns, one kickoff return and one interception return. He has made 49 tackles on defense.

8. QB Kaelan Riley, Calhoun:Riley was 8-of-11 passing for 126 yards and a touchdown in a 70-0 victory over Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe. On the season, Riley is 91-of-137 passing (.658) for 1,532 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has rushed for 349 yards and six touchdowns on 54 carries. Calhoun is 9-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class AAA. Riley is committed to Mercer.

9. DT Antwuan Jackson, Cedar Grove:Jackson had seven tackles, five for losses, in a 33-20 victory over South Atlanta. On the season, Jackson has 56 tackles, a DeKalb County-leading 33 stops for losses, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and eight sacks for a 8-1 team ranked No. 3 in Class AAA. Jackson, an AJC Super 11 pick, is rated the consensus No. 7 senior prospect in Georgia and No. 56 player nationally.

10. RB Brittain Brown, Cherokee: Brown rushed for 225 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries in a 42-21 loss to third-ranked Roswell. He also passed for 76 yards. For the season, Brown has rushed for 1,687 yards - the most in Class AAAAAA - and 18 touchdowns on 186 carries (9.1 ypc), caught 21 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns and completed two of two passes for 76 yards. Rated the consensus No. 42 senior recruit in Georgia, Brown is committed to Duke.
