How the game was won: The teams entered the fourth quarter tied 14-14 before Wyatt Palmer broke the tie with a 36-yard field goal that put East Coweta ahead 17-14 with six minutes left. Less than a minute later, Newnan answered and claimed its first lead of the game (21-17) on a 78-yard touchdown run by Marquis Hill that proved to be the game winner. Newnan faced a 3rd and 4 at midfield with three minutes left, but East Coweta jumped offsides and the Cougars were able to then run out the clock.

Top Performers: East Coweta's Christian Reid threw a 54 yard touchdown pass to Justin Crump and ran in a 42-yard touchdown. … Newnan's Marquis Hill scored a game-winning 78-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter after rushing for a 54-yard score in the second quarter. … Newnan's Darryel Hines tied the game at 14-14 in the third quarter with a 2-yard touchdown.
