Mike Parris, who resigned earlier this year as head football coach at Heritage in Conyers, was approved Tuesday as coach of region rival Loganville, the Walton Tribune has reported.
Parris’s Heritage team defeated Loganville 21-7 last season in a game that essentially put Heritage in the playoffs from 8-AAAAA and kept Loganville out.
Parris was Heritage’s coach for only one season. He resigned in December, less than a month after Heritage lost to Tucker in the first round.
Parris had been a head coach at Forest Park (1992-95) and Jackson (1996-2012) and had led both schools to the semifinals and coached seven teams that won at least 10 games. His career record is 164-83.
Loganville’s previous head coach, Eric Godfree, left to take the head coaching job at Parkview.
