With the regular season concluding this weekend, and the region tournaments starting up next week, the St. Francis boys have reclaimed the lead over Athens Christian for the No. 1 spot in the Georgia High Schools Association/MaxPreps Private School Power Ratings. Calhoun County has extended its lead over Greenville for the top spot in the public school ratings.
On the girls side, St. Francis maintained a firm grip on the No. 1 private school spot, while Southwest Atlanta Christian jumped Savannah Country Day for No. 2. Claxton held on to its No. 1 rating on the public school side, despite No. 2 Taylor County’s undefeated record (23-0).
As is the case with football, region tournament champions will be seeded first, according to the team’s power rating. The rest of the field will be seeded by power rating as well.
