Hardaway has hired Jordan assistant Michael Woolridge, an alumnus, to replace Jeff Battles, who stepped down as head coach but remained as athletics director. Wooldridge, the first reported head-coaching hire in the Georgia offseason, was an assistant under Battles from 2008 to 2010. He served as both offensive and defensive coordinator at Jordan.
Two other schools have announced openings in the past week.
Thomasville coach Leroy Ryals resigned at Thomasville, where he was 15-17 in three seasons, including a 1-8 finish in 2015. Ryals had come from Clarke Central, where he led the Gladiators to the 2009 Class AAAA final.
At Heritage of Conyers, Wendell Early has stepped down after two seasons during which he was 4-16. The program's win total has declined each since peaking at 10-2 in 2011.
