The AJC released its Lacrosse rankings for Week 8 on Friday, and we have a new No. 1 on the A-AAAAA boys side in Allatoona. There was also some mild shuffling in position in the AAAAAA boys and A-AAAAA girls polls, and no change in the AAAAAA girls poll. Below are the new rankings, with last week's rankings in parenthesis, along with updated records through Wednesday's games according to LaxPower.com.

- In their first game back from spring break, the North Gwinnett Lady Bulldogs disposed of Peachtree Ridge 21-1 on Wednesday, led by twins Haley and Maddie Gorke. Haley Gorke led the Lady Bulldogs with five goals -- giving her 34 on the season -- while Maddie Gorke won 10 draws, good for a team-leading 46. Katie Knazek added two goals and six assists -- she leads the team with 32 assists -- and keeper Samantha Gladstein has a 53-percent save ratio on the season.
- The West Forsyth Lady Wolverines beat Lambert 13-10 on Tuesday, with Madison Mueller scoring six goals and Sarah Grady scoring four goals with eight draw controls.
- Following the Mill Creek Hawks' 10-3 loss to Chattahoochee on Tuesday, Eddie Grieco leads the Hawks with 36 goals, followed by Jeremy Kohn (32) and Bailey Williams (31). Williams and Colton Eubanks lead the Hawks with 19 assists apiece.
