A dozen Georgia girls have been invited to attend the USA Basketball Women’s U17 World Championship Team Trials this month in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The group is led by St. Pius point guard Asia Durr, a member of the gold-medal winning USA U16 team from last year.
Other Georgia players are Camille Anderson (5-10 guard) of Buford, Tyler Collins (5-4 guard) of Woodward Academy, Te’a Coopoer (5-8 guard) of McEachern, Shekinah Howard (5-11 forward) of Chapel Hill Middle, Kasiyahna Kushkituah (6-3 center) of St. Francis, Tynice Martin (5-11 forward) of Southwest DeKalb, Victoria Oglesby (5-6 guard) of Creekland Middle, Caliya Robinson (6-3 forward) of McEachern, Taylor Sutton (5-5 guard) of Eddie White Academy, Tene Thompson (5-11 guard) of Hillgrove and Cassidy Williams (5-8 guard) of Mcintosh.
There will be 162 players attending the skills and trials sessions May 22-26 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
The only states with more than Georgia’s 12 are Texas (20) and California (17).
