Steve DeVoursney, the coach who led to Griffin to a Class AAAA championship in 2014, has been named to replace Tom Fallaw at Cairo. DeVoursney was Cairo’s defensive coordinator last season.
DeVoursney resigned at Griffin in the winter of 2014 after a five-month investigation into alleged recruiting and inappropriate academic help to student-athletes. DeVoursney denied any wrongdoing.
DeVoursney’s record at Griffin was 128-35 in 13 seasons.
Fallaw stepped down but remained in the school system. He led Cairo to a Class AAA championship in 2008. Fallaw’s teams were 116-34 in 12 seasons, including a 9-3 finish in 2014.

-Shiloh has hired Marietta secondary coach Ryan Andrews to replace Troy Hobbs, who resigned after three seasons. Andrews was head coach at his alma mater, Banneker, in 2013 and finished 5-5-1 and made the playoffs for the first time in four years.
-Marty Jackson, the head coach at Evans since 2003, has resigned to become the athletics director at Grovetown. Jackson has been a Georgia head coach for 27 seasons. That includes stops at Fannin County (1986-87), Jackson County (1988), Chattooga (1989-90) and Aquinas (1993-2002). Grovetown’s previous athletics director, Todd Booker, is now head football coach at Harlem.
Reported openings remain at Americus-Sumter, Berkmar, Bryan County, Evans, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, Miller County, Troup, Twiggs County and Windsor Forest.
