As we enter the home stretch of the regular season, only two undefeated teams remain, the Greenforest Christian and Turner County girls. Can they run the table all the way to a title?

Greenforest Christian (17-0, 7-0 in Region 5)

AJC Poll Ranking: 4

Class A Private Power Rating:  4

Chance of going undefeated:  Not good.  The Eagles have cruised past most opponents this season. Their closest contest was a 48-43 win over region rival Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy (10-10, 4-3), a program that has taken a step back this season. Greenforest has a date with Paideia (13-5, 4-1) on Saturday and may face the Pythons again in the region tournament. A surging Our Lady of Mercy (14-2, 6-1) could be on the horizon in the region tournament as well. But the state playoffs is where Greenforest could stumble, as No. 1 St. Francis (20-1, 7-0 in Region 6) and No. 3 Calvary Day (16-1, 6-0 in Region 3) – No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, respectively, in the Power Ratings – are the favorites.

Turner County (19-0, 10-0 in Region 2)

AJC Poll Ranking: 2

Class A Public Power Rating:  1

Chance of going undefeated: Fair. The Rebels are cruising through the regular season. While their schedule has not been very challenging, Turner has knocked off a good Class AA squad in Fitzgerald (12-4, 4-3 in Region 1) as well as Calhoun County (14-4, 10-1 in Region 1). However, likely region champions Terrell County (13-2, 10-0 in Region 1), Wheeler County (14-3, 7-1 in Region 3) and Taylor County (17-2, 10-1 in Region 4), loom large in the playoffs.
