AA in brief: No movement in polls
For the second week in a row in AA, the same 10 teams make up the rankings. Last week, No. 9 and 10 swapped places, but this week there are no changes to the polls. Benedictine continues to move on from Hurricane Matthew, and all teams except the No. 6 Brooks County Trojans rolled to blowout wins of at least three scores. The Trojans lost 42-7 to No. 2 Fitzgerald, but despite that they remain at No. 6.
Here’s a glimpse at the updated rankings, with the previous week’s rankings in parenthesis:

In brief:
- Callaway defensive end Lichon Terrell, Pepperell running back Tae Hammond, Rabun County quarterback Bailey Fisher and Vidalia linebacker Nate McBride earned Top Performances honors from GHSF Daily.
- Speaking of McBride, the USA Today recently profiled the AJC Super 11 selection's jersey presentation for the Army All-American Bowl.

- Though the No. 9 Pepperell Dragons had to earn their way into the rankings, Dragons coach Rick Hurst reminds his team the polls don't matter.
- Ranked or not, the Dragons had a big night defensively last week against Dade County.
- The Spencer Greenwave Owls may be unranked out of Region 5, but keep an eye on them. After beating Lamar County 39-0, they're 6-2 overall and 3-0 in league play, which makes them the only other team besides No. 4 Callaway that's undefeated in league play. They play Callaway on Friday.
- Speaking of Callaway, head coach Pete Wiggins earned his 99th career win last week.
- As the regular season winds down, it's time to start paying close attention to the region standings.
- Blitz provided highlights of Rabun County quarterback Bailey Fisher's performance from Friday.
- Fisher is just the latest success story in Lee Shaw-run offenses.

- Benedictine announced the Cadets' Nov. 11 game, which is actually the first round of the state playoffs, as its makeup date for homecoming. A playoff game serving as homecoming is unheard of, but then again so is a hurricane ripping through your city and postponing the football season for a week.
