Here's what to watch this weekend in Class AA basketball:

• This weekend marks the final games of the regular season before region tournaments start. According to the latest standings on GHSA.net, the following boys teams will look to lock up first place and a No. 1 seed for the region tourneys: Pelham (leads Region 1 by 4 games); Vidalia (Region 2, 2.5 games), Laney (Region 3; 3.5 games); Crawford County (Region 4, 1 game); Manchester (Region 5; 1 game); Greater Atlanta Christian (Region 6, 3 games); Model (Region 7, 1.5 games); Jefferson (Region 8; 1.5 games).

• The GAC Spartans and Vidalia Indians - ranked No. 1 and 2 - remain undefeated. The defending state champion Spartans (25-0, 8-0) have won 43 in a row and 79 overall. They have finished their regular season, with their next game coming in the region tournament. The Indians (24-0, 10-0) close out their regular season Friday at Toombs County. The Indians won the first game against Toombs County 91-34. The Indians' average victory is 41.8 points and they've scored 80 or more points 14 times. The No. 3 Laney Wildcats (20-4, 7-0) are on a 12-game win streak.

• The following girls teams will look to lock up first place and a No. 1 seed for the region tourneys: Pelham (Region 1, 4 games); Vidalia (Region 2, 3.5 games); Laney (1.5 games); Putnam County and Bleckley County are tied in Region 4 and split the regular season series; Kendrick (Region 5, 1 game); Wesleyan and GAC are tied atop Region 6 and split the regular season series; Calhoun and Armuchee are tied atop Region 7 and play at Armuchee Friday - Armuchee won the first meeting 51-36; Rabun County (Region 8, 1 game).

• Region 6 on the girls' side has become interesting with GAC defeating the No. 1-ranked Wesleyan Lady Wolves 53-43 on Wednesday night. The Lady Wolves were coming off a 60-5 win over Hapeville Charter when the No. 5 ranked Lady Spartans upset them and ended Wesleyan's 57-game region win streak.
