It's hard to live up to the legend of a father who starred in the NFL, but Micah Andrews did pretty well for his family name at Greater Atlanta Christian.

Micah, the son of former Falcons Pro Bowl RB William Andrews, rushed for 6,429 yards and 67 touchdowns during his career and led GAC to a state-title game in 2002, when he was the Class AA offensive player of the year. Micah went on to play at Wake Forest.

Micah and William (Thomasville) are the first father-and-son pair to make GHSF Daily's list of best players in the history of their schools.

Those from the current Region 7-AAA include two other outstanding running backs, Brian Satterfield and T.J. Pitts, who ran for 2,000 yards in a season. Jeff Lott went on to play at Auburn and was a lead blocker for Bo Jackson. Brian Raber played at Clemson. Michael Turner helped start his school's program in 1968 and made first-team all-state twice. Joseph Mancuso helped put his program on the map in recent years and was all-state three times.
