Three things to note about Boston College’s depth chart:
Offense
Note No. 1: Boston College's offensive line, which follows below, returns three starters who have combined for 26 starts. Those three starters are Aaron Monteiro, Jon Baker and Chris Lindstrom. Baker leads the group with 12 starts. The line helped the rushing attack average 164 yards per game. It also allowed 28 sacks. Simply because of their weight, it seems likely that the Eagles will try to run to the left because that's where it's heaviest linemen are. Georgia Tech expects the Eagles will use a power running game because that's what offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler has relied on at previous stops

Note No. 2: Though Boston College's passing attack returns 99.8 percent of its passing yards, neither of the quarterbacks listed Nos. 1 and 2 on the depth chart were responsible for a majority of those stats. And while the percentage is impressive, it's necessary to note that the Eagles averaged just 111 passing yards per game. That seems likely to change with Towles, who passed for more than 5,000 yards over two-plus seasons at Kentucky. Of course, if Georgia Tech's front seven can't get any more pressure than it was able to generate last season when it was last in the ACC with just 14 sacks, either of Boston College's quarterbacks could wind up looking good.

Defense
Note No. 3: The Eagles return eight players with a starting experience to what was arguably one of the best defenses in FBS last year. The four starters lost had more than 120 starts between them. Four of the front seven return, as do four in the secondary. Truman Gutapfel, an end last season, is moving to tackle this season. Just 44.9 percent of the tackles return this season. The most important player is arguably Connor Strachan, who finished second on the team with 44 tackles, including 12 1/2 for loss last season.
