Projected starters: Hawks -- Dennis Schroder, Kent Bazemore, Taurean Prince, Ersan Ilyasova, Dewayne Dedmon. Mavericks -- Dennis Smith Jr., Yogi Ferrell, Wesley Matthews, Harrison Barnes, Dirk Nowitzki.
What to watch for: The season opener for both teams is a rematch of the exhibition game won by the Mavericks at McCamish Pavilion last Thursday. Mavs starters Nowitzki, Barnes and Matthews were healthy scratches from that game but Dallas still made 19 3-pointers. In their final exhibition game the Mavs used a small lineup that included Smith Jr. and Ferrell in the back court and Nowitzki at center.
New Hawks point guard Isaiah Taylor is with the team after officially signing his contract yesterday.
