Game Thread: Hawks have to watch Bledsoe

PHOENIX -- Transition defense will be the key for the Hawks again tonight.

Atlanta will try to keep Phoenix guard Eric Bledsoe in check as he controls the pace.

"They get out and run," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. "Bledsoe is a one-man fast break. What he gets done in the first six seconds of the shot clock is impressive and important to them. They are playing a bigger group now. They have bigger and more physical wings. We are going to have to compete on the boards."

In dealing with Bledsoe, Budenholzer said the Hawks will concentrate on getting back rather than picking him up early.

"We want to be sure we are back and make sure we keep him in front of us," Budenholzer said. "If we pick him up too early, he can go by you. Anything to keep them in front of us."
