FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan spoke to the media on Thursday.

We have a Sunday story on the new offensive scheme and the team’s all-time leading passer working with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and new quarterbacks coach Matt LeFleur.

Here’s Ryan on a few things that didn’t make the story:

ON WORKING OUT: "It's definitely changed a lot from my first or second year. There is just … as you get older, there is

more wear and tear on your body. So, you have to kind of manage what you do a little bit better. I’ve found that the way that I’ve trained has changed a ton probably in the last two or three years. I feel better than I ever have. That is one of the things that has allowed me to kind of get back into throwing a little bit more and spending some time on the field is kind of a change in everything, kind of day-to-day life and how you work out and all of those kind of things have helped me feel younger. It’s been really good. It certainly has changed a ton from my rookie year and my second year. Those were kind of two or three weeks after the season, you were out there throwing and that’s not the case anymore.”

ON MULARKEY/KOETTER/SHANAHAN: "Everybody essentially does things that are similar. How it's taught, what's emphasized. . . All of those things are a little bit different. So, it the pass game, the concepts, there's a lot of stuff that's similar to what we've done. There is a lot stuff you might just have a thing here are there that needs to be tweaked."

ON THE OFFENSE: "A lot of it depends on how your roster shakes out when you get into the regular season. You love to have this idea about what you are going to do, but personnel will dictate how you evolve as an offense. We'll find out as we move forward what we are after the draft and as we get through training camp, we'll figure out who we are going to be."

ON STARTING THE OFFSEASON PROGRAM: "It's different. We are starting a couple of weeks earlier, which is good for us with new schemes on both sides. It just little things like the schedule, how meetings are run and how all of those things go."

ON NEW HEAD COACH DAN QUINN: "I've really enjoyed getting to know Dan these last two or three months. I really enjoyed getting to know him as a person. He's got great energy. He's often here in the building. Dan has made it easy for everybody. He's made it exciting."
